Overview

A mother brown bear steps out of the forest. Two cubs follow closely behind her. Mist hangs over the shoreline. Snow-covered peaks rise in the distance. This is Brown Bear Bay in June.

This private wilderness lodge is reserved exclusively for our group, and dedicated entirely to photographing Alaska’s coastal brown bears in one of the most remote and productive bear habitats in North America.

June brings a unique window of opportunity. New cubs are exploring the world for the first time, mothers are highly active in the coastal meadows, and the early stages of the breeding season bring powerful behavioural encounters with dominant males along the shoreline.

With endless daylight, dramatic Alaskan scenery, and full access to one of the region’s most consistent bear populations, every day offers new photographic opportunities—from intimate behavioural moments to dramatic environmental wildlife imagery.

This is not about passing through. It is about living inside the landscape.

With exclusive-use lodge access, private charter flights, and expert photographic guidance, this is one of the most immersive brown bear photography experiences available anywhere in the world.

Upon arrival at Brown Bear Bay, our bear photography adventure begins immediately.

After settling into our private wilderness lodge, we head into the field for our first photography session before returning for dinner and overnight accommodation.
