Staying at Khwai River Lodge, Savute Elephant Lodge & Pangolin Chobe Lodge – Botswana
Khwai River Lodge: This spectacular lodge on the banks of the Khwai river is arguably one of the most luxurious lodges in Botswana. Its reputation as being one of the foremost sought after lodges in Botswana bears testament to this. This lodge is one of the only lodges in Botswana that offers air-conditioning amongst other luxurious features. The Khwai river is also well known as one of the top wildlife hot spots in Botswana. Resident packs of Wilddog offer some of the best opportunities with this species. Lions, leopards and Hyenas are also in abundance and a good selection and density of herbivores can be found. Elephant and Buffalo also are resident with good opportunities and sightings on a daily basis. The Khwai area falls outside of the Moremi National Park, which means that game drives are not bound by daylight hours. We can extend our drives well into the night should we want to do so. Off-road driving is also permitted in this area, which gives unequaled opportunity to maneuver for the best photography results.
Savute Elephant Lodge: The famous Savute area is another Botswana highlight. The area achieved international renown by documentaries such as ‘Eternal Enemies’ by Dereck & Beverley Joubert with unbelievable Lion and Hyena interactions. The BBC have filmed numerous documentaries in the area including the famous interaction between Lion and Elephant. More recently productions like ‘Animal Kingdom’ by National Geographic focused exclusively on Savuti wildlife for the entire series. In this area regular sightings of Wild Dog, Lion and Leopard can be expected. The huge Elephant bulls that frequent the area are among the largest in Africa and provide yet another highlight. A variety and density of general game including some elusive species make this area a sought after destination for Photographers all over the world. Savute Elephant Lodge is spectacular! This 5 star lodge offers an unrivaled level of comfort with luxuries including air-conditioning in each room, ensuring its deserved reputation as one of the most popular lodges in Botswana.
Pangolin Chobe Lodge: Situated on a hill overlooking the Chobe floodplains, this comfortable lodge offers us great opportunity to visit the Chobe National Park. The Chobe region is world-renowned for its abundance and diversity of game as well as birds. Huge herds of Elephant, Buffalo, Lechwe, Impala and many more pack the flood plains of this river system. The bird life is especially notable with more than 470 species of birds recorded along the river.

I'd just like to say an enormous thank you for a superb safari to Okavango, Savute and Chobe with Brendon and Dawie. Everything ran like clockwork. The lodges were all superb and it was definitely an experience never to be forgotten. Food was great, group ambience fantastic and expert tuition from Brendon and Dawie, especially the evening shoots which were new to me. I've come back with some really special photos that mean a lot to me and have already arranged a small exhibition in my local town in France.I am already looking at booking my next safari with you in 2020.

We just wanted to let both of you, and Dawie, know that we had a lovely time in Botswana. Looking through all the photos now and enjoying reliving it all. 'We had an amazing experience on our first trip to Botswana. Khwai was amazing with its water and leopard, Savute with its incredible elephant and lion and finishing off at Chobe, with eye level photographic opportunities of our favourite elephant, buffalo, wild dog and hippo. Wonderful animals to capture digitally to take home with you. The lodges were fantastic, especially at Khwai and Savute, with the best food I've experienced on all my previous safaris (although Pangolin at Chobe cooked the best fillet steak any of us had ever eaten!). Our expert guides, Wim and Dawie, never failed to call out the camera settings at a sighting, to make sure we were all on the same page and didn't miss the opportunity. I took photos I'd never taken before and that's very special. We'll certainly choose Tusk next time."

Well done to tusk! Once again thanks to tusk for an unforgettable safari - I absolutely loved every second and the guides were both wonderful and helpful. I will be booking with you guys again for sure.

Just a short mail that the Khwai/Savuti Safari was unbelievable. It was probably the best wildlife experience I have ever had. From the flights, to being met at the airport, The Mac Air flights, the lodges, the hosts etc. Everything was great. Especially thanks for the birthday wishes and cake etc. Oh by the way the photography was fantastic. Even Khwai (notwithstanding the water) was fantastic.I would this trip again.
