News from Brendon:
This morning we first decided to follow up on the lions – they should be hungry and hunting, we thought. But on the way there we found a beautiful Leopard lying very exposed on the branch of a tree – she looked quite exquisite in the early light that a stop became mandatory!
She was so lovely that we spent almost the entire morning with her, watching as she first slept and then woke up and came down the tree.
We proceeded from there to Marabou Pan but there were no animals, but on the way back to the Lodge we photographed Elephants, Ostrich, Tsessebe, Wildebeest, Impala, Giraffe and Zebra.
This afternoon we went past the Leopard and found her in the same place and quite deep in the bush we saw a filming crew so we left the area …
We then returned to the Lions and found them all flat, fast asleep. So we returned to Marabou Pan where we photographed the animals, including Elephants again, as we lay flat on our bellies.
A couple of huge Elephant bulls arrived for a drink in addition to the other animals that frequent the place.
Memory cards full, and feeling very satisfied, we headed back to the camp, more than happy with another excellent day. Maybe those Lions will be hungry enough tomorrow …
